You challenged yourself to the greatest test to find out if you could discover the secret of life. Though it’s a well-kept secret, we are revealing it here: it is to give to others. You each chose to be born, hoping and praying that you would discover this simple secret before your days were out—that your first impulse should be to serve others. That is the highest, the most exalted spiritual message I can give you. Your challenge is to serve others before yourself.
That conclusion can’t come too easily, or it wouldn’t be a true test. So you each receive within your breast a burning self-interest that some call ego. This is the fire to test the steel. You each are drawn to seek comfort and privilege for yourself. You are challenged by longings for pleasure, affluence, adoration of others. Almost all of your society would like to be rich and famous. You are not told that these goals are the trick questions in this classroom of life. Don’t be fooled by the outer layer of your desires.
Look deeply for your innermost yearnings and you will find a desire to serve others, to share joy, comfort and pleasure with others. These drives are your heart’s callings, and they should be heeded.

どのような形であれ，そして，どのような規模であれ，誰もが，“自分以外の誰か”の役に立つことになっています。意識せずに導かれる場合，苦難の末にたどり着く場合，その両方である場合があります。
最終的には，人助けが喜びであり，生きがいとなることでしょう。たとえ，誰かに認められなくても，です。そこへ到達するには，遥かな道のりですが。
